VW Truck & Bus social projects benefit about 100 thousand people

Volkswagen Truck & Bus renews its commitment to social responsibility in 2025 and reaps the results of the increase in the number of institutions supported in the last year. With initiatives focused on health, education, environment and culture, the automaker impacted about 100 thousand people through social initiatives, a number four times higher than that recorded in 2023. For the coming year, VWTB will partner with ten new projects.

“Commitment to society is one of our main drivers. We have expanded VWTB's participation alongside partners in social actions in recent years and we wish to continue on this path. With initiatives such as those that the company has been supporting, we have the possibility of enabling new opportunities for the community that welcomes us, generating a positive impact on the present and transforming the future of the next generations”, comments Marco Saltini, Vice-President of Institutional Relations at Volkswagen Truck & Bus.

Developed in more than 11 Brazilian states, the projects encompass five United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goals, reinforcing the company's role as an agent of social transformation. In addition, six of the new actions have the advice and technical support of the Volkswagen Group Foundation, as part of its portfolio of encouraged social projects, which aims to stimulate social mobility through investment in proposals that develop communities and strengthen the protagonism of citizens.

The city of Resende (RJ) and the district of Jabaquara, in the capital of São Paulo, where the automaker has business units, are also priority territories for VWTB and the Foundation. In these locations, initiatives are carried out aimed at productive inclusion and capacity building, with a focus on fostering employability, entrepreneurship and the development of social organizations.

Among the projects that will receive support from Volkswagen Truck & Bus in 2025, initiatives such as Illustrated Stories 3 stand out, which encourages the protagonism of public school students in the creation and illustration of texts and books, in addition to offering workshops for teachers, and the Assistance Dogs project: Contributing to Social Inclusion, a partnership with the Adimax Institute, which offers service dog training, to provide more autonomy and quality of life for children and adolescents with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
