Volkswagen Truck & Bus exports more than 100 vehicles to Angola

Volkswagen Truck & Bus recently exported 119 vehicles to Angola, further solidifying its presence in one of the brand’s most strategic markets in Africa. The shipment includes 55 units destined for the construction company Omatapalo, 40 units for QGMI, and 24 vehicles ordered by the Provincial Government of Luanda, bolstering operations in the construction, transportation, and public services sectors. The models delivered include trucks from the Delivery and Constellation series, as well as the Volksbus 17.230 EOD in its special Jungle Bus version, featuring a raised suspension for heavy-duty operation.

The configurations include equipment such as garbage compactors, dump bodies, and general cargo bodies, suitable for urban and infrastructure needs in Angola. All vehicles comply with Euro 3 standards, in line with local requirements. The Angolan market remains one of the most important for VWTB.

By 2026, the company expects to deliver more than 250 new vehicles to Angola alone, in addition to continuing exports to other African countries, like South Africa (SKD kits), Ghana, and Ivory Coast. Historically, the company has shipped nearly 11,000 vehicles to Angola since the start of its partnership with the importer Grand Lakes and has surpassed the milestone of 18,000 units exported to the African continent since 1981.

“Africa is a key part of our international strategy. Expanding our business in an established market like Angola demonstrates our confidence in the quality of our products and in our long-term partnership with Grand Lakes,” says Ricardo Alouche, Vice President of Sales, Marketing, and After-Sales at VWCO. “We will continue to invest in order to grow our presence and meet the specific needs of each customer in the region,” he concludes. With significant deliveries and new growth prospects, Volkswagen Truck & Bus reaffirms its commitment to advancing commercial mobility and the transportation sector in emerging markets by offering robust, tailored solutions that meet local needs.
