Volkswagen Truck & Bus and Audi will make the first 100% sustainable vehicle deliveries in Brazil

  • VW e-Delivery will transport Audi RS e-tron GT to its new owners
  • Operations will have zero local emissions of polluting gases
  • Unprecedented partnership announced today (7) in the Interlagos Festival

Volkswagen Truck & Bus and Audi do Brasil will be partners in the first 100% sustainable vehicle deliveries in the country. The VW e-Delivery, the first electric truck fully developed and produced in Resende, will officially transport the Audi RS eTron GT model zero kilometers to its new owners in the State of Sao Paulo, with zero local emissions of polluting gases. The announcement of the pilot project was made today (7) by the brands on the first day of the Interlagos Festival, which will extend until the next day 10 on the race track of the capital of Sao Paulo.

"Once again, the pioneering and innovation of VW e-Delivery joins the exclusivity and high technology of the Audi brand. In October 2021, the e-tron models were the official transportation of VWCO customers in the test drives of our electric trucks in São Paulo. Now, the VW e-Delivery will have the honor of taking the Audi RS e-tron GT to its buyers. We hope that this partnership will be even more fruitful, here in Brazil and also abroad in the future," says Ricardo Alouche, vice president of Sales, Marketing and Services at Volkswagen Truck & Bus.

A VW e-Delivery 11-ton 4x2 unit lent by the assembler was equipped with a self-rescue platform with sider locks for transporting Audi cars, ensuring safety on the way from the stores to the homes of their new owners. The entire operation will be coordinated by the Marketing team of Volkswagen Truck & Bus, which will also have the technical assistance of the brand's authorized dealer network.

State-of-the-art technology in urban transport

The e-Delivery models with 11 and 14 tons of total gross weight are the result of the equivalent of more than 400 thousand kilometers of testing, and the full dedication of a team of 150 Brazilian engineers and technicians. With a choice of six or three battery packs, the products' intelligent engineering translates into a range of up to 250 km, depending on vehicle configuration and application.

The entire e-Delivery project was built around the batteries, in modules, in a true flexible architecture. This design created by the company's engineering in Brazil is unique and patented, with a better use of the chassis to behave the electrical technology in an innovative way.

Complementing the offer of zero-emission transportation solutions, the e-Consortium, a partnership with some of the largest electro mobility companies in the world, ensures convenience and efficiency for the customer from the assembly to the recharging infrastructure and life cycle management of the vehicle battery, integrating the entire supply chain. For the first time in the country, an electric truck is offered as a complete transportation solution.
